Commencement Security Information

To assist with making Commencement safe and enjoyable, please note the following safety procedures.
We strongly urge all attendees not to bring bags to any of the ceremonies unless they are absolutely necessary.

• All bags are subject to search by security personnel, including purses, camera cases, and diaper bags
• Do not bring any gifts/packages that cannot be opened or inspected
• Visitors bringing bags should expect delays in order to enter the venue

For your safety, the following items are NOT allowed in any of the Commencement venues:

• No sticks or rods - posters must be able to be rolled up and put under the chair
• No balloons
• No tripods
• No laser pointers
• No outside food or beverages – including alcohol
• No tailgating in the parking structure, grass areas, or on walkways
• No noisemakers or air horns
• No silly string, confetti, or confetti cannons
• No strollers – strollers may be checked into the bag check room, with the usher staff or leave outside
• No ceremonial mats
• No drones
• Wrapped gifts/packages – all gifts/packages are subject to search
• No weapons

All packages, gifts, leis, posters, etc. must fit on your lap or under the seat. No aisles can be obstructed.
