THERMO SCIENTIFIC ™ NICOLET ™ IS5 FTIR SPECTROMETER

The Nicolet™ iS5 provides easy analysis of raw materials, contaminants, and compound mixtures. It is equipped with OMNIC™ software, an iD5 ATR (attenuated total reflectance) accessory, and an iD1 total transmission accessory. The iD5 ATR accessory has a high energy diamond for robust sampling, a slip-clutch pressure tower to provide reproducible results, and a specular reflectance plate for deeper surface analysis. The iD1 transmission accessory has the ability to hold most liquid cells, pellet and film holders, gas cells, and cuvettes. It can hold up cells up to 10 cm long, and has disposable IR cards and a KBr pellet holder. CMDR uses this instrument for polymer and additive identification in marine debris as well as weathered surface analyses.

AGILENT CARY 630 FTIR SPECTROMETER

The Cary 630 provides quantitative and qualitative information for the routine analysis of solids, liquids, and gases. This instrument is equipped with ATR and total transmission accessories and is accompanied by Agilent MicroLab software. The optics are permanently aligned for ease-of-use and reliable operation. This instrument comes with a large, 25 mm, optical aperture, and short internal optical path in the interferometer that provides performance levels associated with far larger FTIR systems. It also has a unique Flexure system driving the interferometer’s moving mirror that delivers reliability and a solid-state laser for precision. CMDR uses this instrument for fast polymer identification of marine debris on large sample sets.
