As the Fall 2026 semester gets underway, the Cybersecurity team continues to strengthen account security, data security, and compliance across HPU, with students, faculty, and staff at the center of this work.
The Cybersecurity team continues to strengthen how access to accounts is managed and protected, reducing unnecessary risk and ensuring the right safeguards are in place for the accounts and resources the HPU community relies on every day. Behind every account is real coursework, research, and records, and keeping that safe remains a top priority.
The team is also expanding its use of new tooling to better protect sensitive data and proactively identify security risks. This helps the Cybersecurity team understand where sensitive information lives, how it is accessed, and where extra protection is needed, while ongoing analysis lets them catch and fix vulnerabilities early, before they become bigger issues.
These efforts reflect HPU’s continued commitment to compliance and keeping its people and information safe.
The Cybersecurity team would like to remind all students, staff, and faculty that their contributions also play a large part in keeping HPU safe. While phishing attempts, social engineering, and other tactics are getting better at appearing more authentic, vigilance from everyone at HPU can help mitigate the effectiveness of such attempts. Always verify a sender's email address, phone number, and other identifying information, and be more skeptical of unsolicited or unexpected communications.
