HPU Women's Basketball is preparing for year two under Head Coach Brent Gibson, with a returning core, stronger team chemistry, and a renewed focus on competing in the PacWest.
On this edition of Sharks Weekly, Host Gregory Fischbach talks with Coach Gibson, guards Serenity Santos, Anisa Torres, and Kaile Cruz to discuss the team development, the challenges of rebuilding a roster, and the expectations for the season.
After assembling a team with 15 newcomers in his first year, Gibson reflects on how the program has grown and the importance of establishing a team-first culture. The players share their experiences at HPU, the relationships they've built and how discipline, accountability and confidence shape their approach to the game.
The group also looks ahead to HPU's October 21 matchup against the University of Hawai‘i and the start of the regular season in November.
