Current and past student athletes from the HPU men’s soccer team are giving back the local community to foster interest in youth soccer. The Hawaii United Football Club (HUFC) started with just two students in 2019 and today they have nearly 300 students in their club.

The HUFC currently has three HPU soccer players as coaches and four past HPU soccer players as coaches. These HPU student athletes are: Gerrit Arzberger, Austin Stafford, Jeremy Zielinski, Luiz Garcia, Ryo Hirayama, Piper Berg, Zen Roten.

In July 2023, the HUFC will partner with Everton Football Club in England to offer children the chance to play football in England. “It is truly going to be a great opportunity for kids in this area to play high-level soccer,” said HPU student athlete and HUFC Marketing Manager Austin Stafford.
