Library Instruction
Library Instruction for courses
Reference librarians provide library instruction sessions, workshops, and orientations to support the development of information literacy skills in our student population. These initiatives are essential to students’ ability to achieve HPU’s Institutional Learning Outcomes; including critical thinking, information literacy, and scholarly or creative mastery. We encourage faculty to schedule library instruction for every class, at every level.
Reference librarians tailor instruction session content and activities to each course’s specific needs. We teach on a wide range of topics, including basic research skills, advanced search strategies, organizing and managing citations, and evaluating information critically and contextually.
We ask that faculty provide us with at least one week of notice when scheduling instruction sessions. If you would like to schedule an instruction session, please do so by using the form below.
