Our Faculty
Ghazwan Hassna, PhD
Dr. Ghazwan Hassna is an Associate Professor of Information Systems and the program chair of the Business Analytics and Information Security Program at the College of Business of Hawaii Pacific University. Before joining this position, Dr. Hassna, was conducting his research at both EPIC LAB (Enterprise Process Innovation and Computing) and GCIF Lab (Global Center for Internet Finance) at City University of Hong Kong where he obtained his PhD.
Red Briou
Dr. Red Briou is an Assistant Professor of Information Technology, Information Security, and Data Science/Analytics at the College of Business of Hawaii Pacific University. He also works as a sports data analytics consultant. He earned his Masters in Information Systems from HPU and his PhD in Management Technology from Argosy University Honolulu. His previous work includes leadership of the Education Programs & Information Technology for the Japan-America Institute of Management Science, membership on the IT Council Board for the Hawai‘i Lodging and Tourism Association, and CTO of Choice Technologies - Hawai‘i.
Jefferey Rich
Jeff joined HPU in 2022 as Vice President and Chief Marketing Communications Officer. Jeff is a native of New York where he studied economics at St. John’s University before earning his masters in educational policy, planning and leadership at William & Mary in Virginia. Jeff’s career has included executive leadership positions at Target Corporation and UnitedHealth Group, William & Mary, Hamline University and The College of St. Scholastica. In his spare time, you’ll find Jeff exploring the many beaches of Oahu on his paddle board, biking or hiking Hawaii’s amazing trails.
Pia Berg Yuen, PhD
Dr. Pia Berg Yuen has over 20 years of international experience in banking. Her academic foundation includes a Ph.D. in Management Studies from Cambridge University where she researched operational risk capital in banking. She has served as a lecturer at the Shidler College of Business at the University of Hawaii at Mānoa and Chaminade University, instructing students in business and statistics courses. A native of Stockholm, Sweden, where she initially studied mathematics, computer science, and economics, she holds an M.S. in Applied Mathematics from Stockholm University, an MBA from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and a B.A. in Psychology from HPU.
