Aloha Tower Marketplace

HPU is transforming into a world-class urban campus in the heart of Hawai‘i’s business community. HPU’s location in urban Honolulu encourages active, experiential learning that directly connects students with the organizations and people who are making a difference in Hawai‘i and beyond. Our revitalization of Aloha Tower Marketplace brings new life to this iconic destination.

Combining vibrant new student living spaces with enhanced learning facilities, Aloha Tower Marketplace is an anchor for Hawai‘i Pacific University’s educational activities, as well as serves as a gathering space for the entire community to enjoy at the center of Honolulu’s growing intellectual and cultural scene. Learn more about Aloha Tower’s history here.

As a dynamic centerpiece of Hawai‘i Pacific University’s downtown presence and a unique place for the community to come and learn, Aloha Tower Marketplace is the ideal location to convene a business meeting or corporate seminar.

The Waterfront Lofts:
The Waterfront Lofts are located on the downtown Honolulu waterfront, Piers 8 and 9, and border the iconic Aloha Tower that was built in 1926 to welcome passenger ship arrivals. The Waterfront Lofts are part of Aloha Tower Marketplace, a vibrant, mixed-use residential and commercial center designed to serve the Hawai‘i community and HPU students.

The 377-bed residential community is located on the second and third floors of Aloha Tower Marketplace. The second-floor residences are comprised of double- and quad-occupancy bedroom options in a loft unit and double-, triple- and quad-occupancy options in a studio unit. There are a very limited number of single-occupancy bedrooms, which are not typically available to first-year students.

The third-floor residences are comprised of double-, triple- and quad-occupancy bedrooms with a central lounge/study area and shared bathroom/shower facilities for each building.

On the ground floor, students have access to HPU facilities including the Learning Commons; the HPU eSports Arena; multi-purpose rooms; HPU offices such as the Welcome Center, Student Life, Housing and Residence Life, Student Government Association, and Campus Activities Board; and various retail and dining options. Living at the Waterfront Lofts also means easy access to many amenities, activities, and public transportation in downtown Honolulu.

HPU eSports Arena:
Earlier this year HPU opened the state’s first collegiate eSports arena at Aloha Tower Marketplace and introduced the HPU eSports Scholarship for prospective students. The HPU eSports Arena provides students with a dedicated space for competitive and casual gaming.

Pier 9 by Sam Choy:
