Transfer Admission Guarantee
Hawai‘i Pacific University is committed to providing transfer students with a clear and accessible pathway to completing their bachelor’s degree.
Transfer applicants are guaranteed admission to HPU and an annual transfer scholarship when they meet the following requirements:
- Earned an Associate of Arts (AA) or Associate of Science (AS) degree from an accredited college or university;
- Achieved a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale across all postsecondary institutions attended; and
- Completed the associate degree in good standing with the degree-granting institution.
The Transfer Admission Guarantee applies to students who earn their AA or AS degree after graduating from high school or completing an equivalent credential. Students who earn an associate degree concurrently with their high school diploma are considered first-year applicants and must meet HPU’s first-year admission requirements.
The guarantee applies to general admission to Hawai‘i Pacific University. Admission to Nursing, the Residential Honors Program, and other selective or capacity-limited programs may require a separate application, completion of prerequisite coursework, or satisfaction of additional academic requirements. Meeting the requirements of the Transfer Admission Guarantee does not guarantee admission to a specific academic program.
Scholarship eligibility and renewal are subject to HPU’s applicable enrollment, academic-progress, and scholarship requirements. Applicants must submit all required application materials and official transcripts for the admission guarantee and scholarship to be awarded.
Transfer student applicants are considered for academic merit scholarships at the time of admission based on academic abilities. Academic merit scholarships are applied towards tuition. To determine your academic merit scholarship eligibility, please complete an application for undergraduate admission.
