HPU business students have access to Coursera's Career Academy from day one. This means that College of Business students can begin gaining certifications from leading organizations such as Google, IBM, Meta, Intuit, and Salesforce, from their first day in a physical or virtual classroom. Many faculty are using Career Academy certificates, so that students can earn multiple certificates, in addition to a bachelor's degree in business administration. Our vision is to offer business students an education that is practical, innovative, and experiential—and we do this via certifications. |

Nursing Care Simulations |
Waterfront Plaza Building 1, Floor 4, Classroom 414 |
Simulations used in nursing education at HPU allow students to replicate clinical practices for multiple situations within a safe and controlled environment. Students are then less likely to make errors in real clinical settings and they also build self-confidence in the performance of skills. Our goal as faculty is to improve their critical thinking and decision-making skills before they are placed in a healthcare organization for clinical hours. If you are interested in attending this session, Please meet in front of the Welcome Center as an HPU Tour Guide will guide you to Waterfront Plaza Building 1, Classroom 414. |

What It's Probably Like to be a Toothed Whale? |
Multipurpose Room 1 |
Inference is used in science when variables are not openly observable and incapable of direct independent verification. Odontocetes (toothed whales) can make a wide range of broadband clicks used for echolocation. It is uncertain as to how the animals "perceive" the sounds. Via behavioral performance and physiological correlation, it's possible to guess (infer) what it's like to be in the mind of an echolocating toothed whale. |
3:30-4:20 PM |
Cybersecurity |
Learning Commons |
The topics covered in this course will help students understand the overall process that comes into play when dealing with cybersecurity. This course provides information about the technology that investigators use to conduct high-tech investigations and analyses. In this mock classroom session, we will review hackers, intellectual property theft, organized crime, and cyberterrorism. |
