Dr. Black works as the DPT Director of Student Affairs and Associate Professor at Hawaii Pacific University.
Dr. Black is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Physical Therapy and has treated patients in acute and critical care settings throughout her career. She completed the Faculty Development Residency and the Teaching for Equity Fellowship at Duke University in 2019. Dr. Black has served as a presenter at state, national, and international conferences on topics related to education, academic coaching, acute care, and cardiopulmonary physical therapy practice. She is currently the Chair of the HPU Faculty Senate and serves the profession as the Vice President and the State Government Affairs Chair for APTA Arizona.
