Jeff Williams has been a nationally certified and state-licensed Physician Assistant since 1999. His clinical practice has been almost exclusively the specialty of Internal Medicine in both primary care and inpatient settings. Jeff entered PA Education in 2009 at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center’s School of Health Professions where he served as a small group facilitator teaching physical exam skills to first year PA students. In 2012, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty full-time as an Assistant Professor on the didactic phase of curriculum for five years. More recently, he served as the founding Director of Didactic Education for developing PA programs in Ogden, UT (Weber State University) and San Diego, CA (UCSD). Jeff enjoys facilitating small group learning activities using case-based scenarios to help students develop medical decision-making and clinical skills.

Mr. Williams is a member of the Physician Assistant Education Association (PAEA) and served for almost 10 years as a content expert and exam item writer with PAEA’s Assessment Council. During his service he authored and reviewed hundreds of items published on PAEA assessment products, including the Physician Assistant Clinical Knowledge Rating and Assessment Tool (PACKRAT), Internal Medicine end-of-rotation exam, and End-of-Curriculum exam. Jeff received a PAEA Don Pedersen Research Grant in 2014 for a proposal entitled Factors Influencing Selection and Retention of Primary Care Practice by Texas Physician Assistants: A Mixed Methods Approach. The project was a collaborative effort involving senior and junior PA faculty members from three Texas PA programs aimed at mentoring junior faculty in research methods while gaining a better understanding of the factors that influence PAs to select primary care specialites.

Jeff currently works in the subspecialty of Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine in Dallas, TX. In addition to wound care, his clinical interests include primary care, chronic kidney disease, and health literacy. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, biking, snow skiing, visiting national parks, and playing pickleball.
