ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY 

Dr. Emerson Hart was born and raised in South Carolina, now living in Charleston, SC for the last 6 years. She has a cavapoo puppy named Hazel and loves going on walks, spending time with family and friends, traveling, and the beach.

She has worked clinically in the local Children’s Hospital in Charleston for the last 4 years with special interests in the pediatric cardiac units and pediatric neurology. Her dissertation work focused on pediatric stroke and recovery, while other research interests include telerehabilitation and insurance billing data analyses. She has presented at local and national conferences and has published several peer-reviewed publications.

Outside of work, Dr. Hart enjoys reading, volunteering, board games, traveling with family, and enjoying the beauty of Charleston! She is thrilled to join the HPU OTD Honolulu ‘ohana!
