Ms. Casey has nearly 17 years’ combined experience as a PA in clinical practice and academia. Her clinical practice experience includes inpatient medicine as a Hospitalist Physician Assistant and outpatient adult internal medicine. Ms. Casey has a passion for teaching with expertise in training clinical preceptors, preparing students for transition to professional practice, and student professionalism as it relates to clinical education.  Prior to becoming a PA, Ms. Casey was a Special Needs Educator for 4 years and worked as a Head Teacher for middle school alternative learning programs.  

Ms. Casey has infused education into her practice since graduating from PA school in 2006. She takes pride in being the first PA on multiple Hospitalist teams, educating patients and their families about their clinical conditions, educating society about the PA profession, precepting PA students, serving as one of the pioneering clinicians in hospital-based quality improvement projects, presenting at Grand Rounds, training new PA colleagues, lobbying at the state house, serving on national PA education committees, presenting at national and state conferences, and publishing a chapter in the first healthcare educator resource textbook.   


Ms. Casey previously served as the Director of Clinical Education for Northeastern University’s Physician Assistant Program in Boston, Massachusetts. Ms. Casey’s work on quality improvement led to her earning Baystate Health Systems’ President’s Quality Award. As a PA Educator, she has had multiple presentations accepted for the Physician Assistant Education Association (PAEA) Forum and was invited to serve on multiple PAEA committees which included the Committee on Clinical Education and the Education Programming Steering Committee. She also served as a co-facilitator for PAEA’s Clinical Coordinators 101 Workshop and as a faculty mentor for PAEA’s Future Educator Fellowship and Student Health Policy Fellowship. 


Ms. Casey lives in Western Massachusetts with her partner, twin daughters, and their family dog. She is an avid reader who enjoys everything that involves the outdoors and is always up for trying something new (except as it relates to food).
