Student Action Fund for Emergency Relief (SAFER)

The outbreak of COVID-19 has caused major disruptions and unforeseen challenges for our students. The collective support of our HPU 'ohana can make a significant impact on our students’ transition during this time of uncertainty and hardship.

HPU’s Student Action Fund for Emergency Relief (SAFER) provides:

  • Immediate support for students facing unexpected housing and moving challenges
  • Assistance for students facing financial hardship due to job loss
  • Resources for students who face food insecurities or need medical and mental health services
  • Resources for students who need computers or internet access to participate in online learning

Supporting the SAFER fund demonstrates your commitment to our students’ success and wellbeing in a time of crisis.

If you are (or know of) a current HPU student experiencing financial hardship due to COVID-19, please fill out the application here.

Funds raised for SAFER will be administered and distributed by the University Relations and Student Life departments to ensure equity and support for our current students with the greatest need.

The number of students who can be served by the fund is subject to available resources. The fund is  sustained by contributions from alumni, parents, faculty, staff and friends of the University.
