BIOGRAPHY:

Prior to becoming an Assistant Professor and coordinator for the MSN to DNP program, Dr. Jennifer Baumstark practiced as a certified nurse-midwife and had the honor of attending over eight hundred births. She transitioned from a clinician to a nurse educator after earning her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Hawaii Pacific University in 2020. In her leisure time, Dr. Baumstark enjoys traveling, spending time with her children and grandchildren, scuba diving, and walking on the beach with her dog, Macho.

 

TEACHING INTERESTS:

Dr. Baumstark translates her years of experience in women’s health into narrative pedagogy for family nurse practitioner students. Her focus is on doctoral-level education. Dr. Baumstark teaches 8000 and 9000-level courses and serves on the DNP project committee for doctoral students.
