Jennifer Baumstark, DNP, APRN, CNM-BC, is an Assistant Professor and the Department Chair for the online graduate nursing programs.  Jennifer practiced as a certified nurse-midwife for 20 years. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree at Hawaii Pacific University and disseminated the findings of her DNP Project on “Improving Healthcare for People in Possession of Transformative Gender Identity (PIPOTGI): Impact of Education on Nurses’ Knowledge and Awareness at the Sigma Theta Tau International Research Conference. Prior to coming to HPU she worked as a certified nurse-midwife providing family planning services, prenatal care, and attending births on the island of Molokai and on the mainland.  Jennifer is an avid hiker and scuba diver.
