Summary:
In this presentation, I will share memories from award-winning teachers about their own teachers- both those who inspired them and those who discouraged them. We will see that the capacity to make a difference in students' lives, even with a brief comment, can be either a powerful tool or a dangerous weapon.
Dr. Kathleen Bailey teaches in teh TESOL-TFL Program at the Middlebury Institute of Internationa Studies in Monterey. She was teh Chairman of the Board of Trustees of TIRF - The International Research Foundation for English Language Education from 2009 to 2012. She has also served as teh President of both the International TESOL Association and the American Association for Applied Linguistics. Her research interests include teacher development and supervision, language assessment, and classroom research.
