Honolulu Civil Beat Presents “Know Your Candidates,”
A Discussion Series On The Governor’s Race

Honolulu – In partnership with the Department of Communication at Hawaii Pacific University,
Honolulu Civil Beat presents a four-part speaker series on the Governor’s race. Unlike other
candidate forums, this Civil Café series is designed as a one-on-one chat with Civil Beat’s politics
and opinions editor, Chad Blair, as a way to get to know the candidates before the August 11th
primary election.

“Know Your Candidate” event dates include:
• Thursday, July 19 - Ray L'Heureux
• Tuesday, July 24 - John Carroll
• Wednesday, August 1 - Gov. David Ige
• Thursday, August 2 - Rep. Andria Tupola

Congresswoman Colleen Hanabusa declined multiple Civil Beat’s invitations to participate in this
series.

All events will take place at Hawaii Pacific University’s Aloha Tower Marketplace campus in
Multipurpose Room 2 from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. They are free and open to the public and will be
livestreamed on Civil Beat's Facebook and YouTube pages. RSVP to attend.
