Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) candidates at Hawai‘i Pacific University presented their culminating scholarly projects during a poster session held in late April 2025. The event highlighted the students’ ability to translate evidence into practice, with projects addressing a wide range of healthcare challenges and innovations. The session provided a platform for the graduating students to share their work with faculty, peers, and clinical partners, emphasizing the real-world impact of their efforts across diverse clinical settings.

“The DNP projects are designed to demonstrate a student’s ability to translate evidence into practice and improve patient outcomes,” said Edna Magpantay-Monroe, Ed.D., APRN, CMCDP. “Our students’ projects are a representation of their contributions to the body of nursing science and their passion. The projects are about quality and safety, clinical practice improvements, leadership and policy, and education, public health, and community.”

The DNP chairs—Jacqueline Thomas, DNP, RN; Karen Collins, DNP, APRN, FNP, CNM, WHNP; and Gabriel Beam, DNP, RN—expressed deep pride in the students’ accomplishments and the scholarly rigor demonstrated in each project. Mary Smith, Ph.D.(C), DNP, FAANP, DNP Track Coordinator, also commended the cohort for their innovation, perseverance, and commitment to advancing nursing practice.
