The School of Social Work will be hosting Kerrie Urosevich, Maya Soetoro-Ng, and Lisa Taylor for a professional development workshop entitled "Introduction to Peacebuilding: Gaining Peace Within, With Others, and in Community."

Description: The skills of thinking critically, showing courage, resolving conflicts, practicing compassion, demonstrating commitment, and establishing connections are helpful in all areas of career and work, as well as in our personal lives. Intentionally practicing these skills and modeling them for others, especially for youth, can bring peace into your life with more clarity. Everyone can sharpen their peacebuilding skills and impart lessons to the young people around them. This session will incorporate videos, small group exercises, and presenter-audience discussions.

The workshop will be held on Friday, March 16 from 9AM-12PM at Aloha Tower Marketplace, Multi-purpose room 3. The workshop is $45 and $25 for students (with valid ID). This is a chance for social work professionals to earn 3 continuing education units.
