Student Judicial Counsel

Are you a student interested in law and the judiciary? If you answered yes, the Student Judicial Council (SJC) may be the right fit for you!

As its name suggests, SJC is the judicial branch of SGA. SJC is modeled after the US Supreme Court and is responsible for resolving electoral and constitutional disputes.

SGA is scouting potential candidates for SJC, which is composed of the following positions:

  • Chief Justice
  • Associate Justice
  • Clerk

 

In order to serve on SJC, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Maintain a HPU grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.5
  • Take no less than twelve (12) HPU credits during Fall and Spring semesters (except for cases where a student's academic degree plan requires them to be registered below full-time status)
  • A desire to serve in their HPU community until graduation
