More Opportunities!

*The following opportunities are sponsored by third party providers and not HPU.  It is highly recommended that students gather information in advance to ensure their personal health and safety and compliance with the latest local and state orders. Click on this link for COVID reminders.

PADI Open Water Dive Certification Course

HPU is partnering with Dive Oahu to offer you a discounted dive certification opportunity. The Open Water certification is the first level certification that meets a minimum requirement for all subsequent certifications, including participation in Scientific Diving courses and certification at HPU. The course starts with a self-paced online portion (a commitment of about 14 hours), then we meet in class, then a swimming pool for 2 weeks, then boat dives for 2 weeks.  The cost for the online curriculum, classroom session, 2 pool sessions, and 4 boat dives, is $335+tax.  We will also provide a shuttle to the Saturday sessions that will leave from the HPU Residence Halls. Note that all operations outlined below are allowed under the current Covid-related restrictions, but groups may be limited to 5. If any adjustments to the schedule below becomes necessary, it will be announced as soon as feasible.

Click on this link for registration instructions. It is best to sign up immediately to get started on the eLearning materials and not have to rush the online curriculum, which must be completed before the classroom session on March 10.  Please note that you will need a few personal snorkel items, which you can purchase at a discount at Dive Oahu, which is located very close to the downtown campus.
