 alumni spotlight

The mission of HPU’s BSW Program is to prepare undergraduate students in the art and science of social work through competent, effective generalist practice directed at achieving social justice and honoring the dignity of all peoples. HPU’s social work students should unashamedly want to “make the world a better place” through caring, professional practice in the ever-changing local, national, and global environment.

To prepare qualified students, especially working adults, for entry into the competent, ethical, and effective practice of advanced generalist social work. Utilizing critical thinking and building upon our diverse environment, Hawai‘i Pacific University’s social work students strive to enhance the social well-being of all people; provide leadership in culturally competent services at the micro, mezzo, and macro levels; advocate for social and economic justice locally, nationally, and globally; and promote multiculturalism through furthering social work knowledge.
