Mission:
To prepare qualified students, especially working adults, for entry into the competent, ethical, and effective practice of advanced generalist social work. Utilizing critical thinking and building upon our diverse environment, Hawai’i Pacific University’s social work students strive to enhance the social well-being of all people; provide leadership in culturally competent services at the micro, mezzo, and macro levels; advocate for social and economic justice locally, nationally, and globally; and promote multiculturalism through furthering social work knowledge.

NEW MSW focus: MILITARY AND VETERAN AFFAIRS
Students in this focus will receive specialized course instruction on the needs of active military personnel, veterans and their families. Social Work Practicum placements are in veteran-centric and/or within veteran or military personnel settings. Students will be developing their capstone projects on issues that are relevant and impact social work practice among military and/or veteran groups.
