Hawai‘i Pacific University (HPU) is proud to announce that its Fall 2019 Commencement exercises will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2019, at Aloha Tower Marketplace.

“Celebrating the accomplishments of our graduates along with their families and friends at the foot of the iconic Aloha Tower, where many of our graduates began their journey at HPU is the perfect way to commemorate their time here,” said President John Gotanda. “It has been a privilege to be part of our students’ journeys, and we look forward to their future successes as they join our ‘ohana of 45,000 alumni across the globe.”

Among the 300 graduates are the University’s first Doctor of Nursing Practice cohort. The inaugural doctoral degree program, which launched in the fall of 2017, paved the way for two additional doctoral programs, the Doctor of Psychology, and Doctor of Physical Therapy programs.

During the ceremony, graduates will hear from HPU alumnus, Major General Arthur “Joe” Logan, former Adjutant General, Hawai‘i, who oversaw the training and readiness of 5,500 Hawai‘i National Guard soldiers and airmen. As Adjutant General, he also served as the Homeland Security Advisor to the governor and the Director of the Hawai‘i Emergency Management Agency.

During his 40 years of military service, Logan received numerous awards and decorations, including the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, and Meritorious Service Medal.

Guests may enter with their admission tickets starting at 9:15 a.m. for the 10:00 a.m. ceremony. There are 5 seating tickets per graduating student, and everyone, including children, will need a ticket for entry into the ceremony. Following the graduate recessional will be a meet-and-greet event for graduates and guests adjacent to the tower. Additional information may be found on the commencement website.
