Kawika Haglund, MDiv., Joins HPU As the University’s Chaplain

HPU welcomes Pastor Haglund as your university chaplain. A chaplain is a member of the clergy in a specialized ministry and is called upon to serve in a pluralistic spiritual environment. In this case, a university environment at HPU. Pastor Haglund is your chaplain if you feel you might benefit from spiritual support as you navigate through your academic career. He is on campus Tuesdays through Thursdays to support you, so feel free to reach out or drop by his office during office hours in the Upper Bishop building on the second floor (suite 210-B).

Pastor Haglund was born in Kailua, Oahu, and moved to Bellingham, Washington, when he was seven. He graduated from Seattle Pacific University with a degree in English and French and later attended Fuller Theological Seminary, where he received his Master of Divinity. He is here to partner with students, faculty and staff for their spiritual flourishing by connecting them to local congregations, assisting in weekly chapel services and meeting one on one.
