We Care Fair Promotes Health and Safety

The 4th annual HPU We Care Fair, which is coordinated by Student Life and sponsored by the Student Activity Fee, was held on Thursday, Sept. 13, at Aloha Tower Marketplace. Director of   Student Activities and Orientation Programs Adrienne Lampitelli shared, “It has been wonderful to watch the community come together to support the health and safety needs of our students.”

At the event, representatives from community organizations and HPU departments promoted resources and support services to assist students with learning how to report/respond to sexual assault, emergency preparedness in Hawaii, violence prevention on campus, commuter safety, and more.

“The HPD detectives were in a booth right next to members of HPU’s Title IX team and their ‘drunk goggles,’ which simulate the effect of alcohol on your vision.  Several of our students donned the goggles and had trouble navigating a straight line,” Lampitelli said.
