Undergraduate Valedictory Speaker Named for Spring 2018 Commencement

Celeste K.L. Cravalho, Bachelor of Science in Biology

Celeste K.L. Cravalho was born in Honolulu, Hawai‘i as the youngest child born to Tammy Ayat and Clarence Cravalho. Before returning to Hawai‘i for higher education at HPU, she was raised mostly in Las Vegas, Nevada. In addition to her major, she worked toward her passion to learn about other religions by minoring in Religious Studies. During her time at HPU, Cravalho was a Peer Mentor for freshmen students, guiding them through their first year at college and pointing them towards resources to make the most of their time at HPU. She was also the College of Natural & Computational Sciences Senator in the Student Government Association; President of Alpha Epsilon Delta; Fundraising Chair for the United Nations Club; and a member of Alpha Chi, Alpha Lambda Delta, Beta Beta Beta, and Kappa Mu Epsilon. Her post-undergraduate plan is to attend the National Institutes of Health Postbac IRTA program to gain hands on-experience in clinical research and then apply to medical school.
