About 50 students, staff, and faculty took part in HPU’s third Mālama HPU Fort Street Beautification Project, which was held on April 26. With gloves on and trash bags in hand, the HPU team canvassed Fort Street Mall and Bishop, Alakea, and Richards Streets to pick up trash. They started at the Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of Peace and ended at Aloha Tower Marketplace.

Through Mālama HPU, the University ‘ohana is making a difference by improving and beautifying its surrounding neighborhood. In the spring of 2017, the Mālama HPU team painted trash cans and water fountains along Fort Street, and in fall of 2017, the team cleaned and helped to restore the Fort Street Padrao Monument and surrounding mosaic. Mālama HPU is co-organized by the offices of Human Resources and University Relations.
