Student Profile: Vanessa Morrison

One of the reasons Vanessa Morrison, a sophomore majoring in Marine Biology and minoring in writing, was drawn to Hawai‘i Pacific University was its international community. Having lived in several countries, Morrison thrives at HPU, which cultivates collaboration with different cultures and empowers students to make a global impact.

Morrison strives to make a difference in the field of conservation and to create a cultural shift in how the public views and interacts with the environment. They appreciate HPU’s many opportunities for relevant internships, work, and volunteering, as well as the unique educational experiences offered by the Residential Honors Program that help them work toward their goal.

“I am thankful to HPU for adopting me into a community of creative, international students, and for teaching me to always look for other perspectives and to think critically,” Morrison said.
