Honor Societies

Alpha Sigma Lambda National Honor Society

Purpose: To honor adult students who, while handling their life responsibilities, achieve and maintain high scholastic standards.

Eligible candidates must:

  • Be an adult student (defined as 27 years of age or older) seeking his or her first degree as an undergraduate student.
  • Have completed a minimum of 24 credit hours at Hawai‘i Pacific University in an undergraduate degree program.
  • At least 12 credits should be earned in courses in Liberal Arts/Sciences.
  • Have an HPU GPA of 3.2 or higher.
  • Be in the TOP 20% of students who meet the above requirements in the selection semester (per ASL National Headquarters Student Membership Criteria).

Invitations are expected to go out by end of October for Fall semester induction and by end of March for Spring semester induction.  Invitations will be sent to each student's official HPU email address along with a link to pay the one-time, lifetime membership fee (see below).  You must pay the fee by the deadline indicated in the email in order to confirm membership.

Induction ceremonies are typically held prior to the end of each selection semester.
