Blakeman Joins HPU as Aloha Tower Marketplace Programming and Marketing Director

HONOLULU — Hawai‘i Pacific University has hired Stephanie Blakeman to serve as Programming and Marketing Director for the Aloha Tower Marketplace.

Ms. Blakeman is a graduate of Hawai‘i Pacific University and Copenhagen School of Design & Technology with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and Marketing. She also earned a Master of Arts in Tourism and Communication from Aalborg University in Copenhagen, Denmark.

As the ATM Programming and Marketing Director, Ms. Blakeman will be responsible for University and community space management, marketing, and programming for the facility in coordination with campus colleagues and constituencies.  Her professional marketing and tourism experience in various countries will be an invaluable asset in enhancing Hawai‘i Pacific University’s standing as one of the most culturally diverse universities in the world.

Prior to joining HPU, Ms. Blakeman worked as a Hawaii Expert in Destination and Communication Management with HÖJSKOLENDK, an international education program headquartered in Denmark, and as a lecturer and adjunct professor at Aalborg University, in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The Aloha Tower Marketplace is currently in the final stages of a year-long renovation by Hawai‘i Pacific University, which became its sole owner in 2013. Its Waterfront Lofts will provide housing for approximately 280 students. The Marketplace will also include educational support space, meeting spaces that will be available to the community, and over 30,000 square feet of retail space. It is on schedule to open in Fall, 2015.
