HPU instructor named to Chinese university advisory board

HONOLULU — Dr. William Keli‘i Akina, HPU adjunct instructor of philosophy and humanities, was recently presented with a certificate naming him to the advisory board of the Sihai Confucius Academy in Beijing, China.

Akina was appointed for his work in East-West business ethics. He was honored at a Chinese New Year presentation at the Royal Garden Restaurant Jan. 22.

Among the guests were Dr. Michael Chun, chairman of the HPU Board of Trustees; Dr. Deborah Crown, dean of HPU’s College of Business Administration; Dr. Tian Chenshan, president of the International Confucian Association and professor at Beijing Foreign Studies University; and Feng Zhe, president of the Beijing Sihai Confucius Academy.
