HPU students are raising money for the victims of the Japan earthquake and tsunami that took place Friday, March 11. The Japanese Association at HPU will be sending the money to the Red Cross in Japan.

Song-fee Choa, president of the association, said that many people have been donating money and asking students if their families were affected in Japan. About 120 Japanese nationals are enrolled at HPU. To help students cope with the tragedy, the school has made counselors available for them.

HPU’s Japanese Association will be holding its emergency fundraiser March 14 – 18 on Fort Street Mall in downtown Honolulu, from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
