HPU President Chatt G. Wright met with Kyungwon University President Gil Ya Lee, Ph.D., on Feb. 2 and signed a cooperation agreement to develop a strategic partnership between the two institutions.

Lee is one of the most influential executive women in South Korea and received the most respected CEO award by The Korea Association of CEOs in 2006. The Journalist Federation of Korea also named Lee one of the “Most Proud South Koreans” for her dedication to medical education.

Han Jung Kim, Kyungwon University vice dean of External Affairs, and several Gachon Gil Foundation officials accompanied Lee to Hawai‘i.

Kyungwon University is one of the fastest growing private research-oriented universities in South Korea providing quality education. The university will be merged with Gachon University of Medicine and Science around August 2011. After this merge, the university will have the largest annual freshman pool (4,500 students) among Korean universities.
