Lubanski Wins Top Award in Student Journalism

The Hawaii Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists announced its  statewide awards June 29 at the Manoa Grand Ballroom.

For the second year in a row, an HPU Journalism student won the top award in Student Journalism.

Janel Lubanski, who recently graduated, won the top award for Student Journalism. She produced her articles while working as a student intern at Hawaii Business magazine. Lubanski was the editor of the HPU Kalamalama. 

The Hawaii Chapter SPJ contest was judged by the Greater Oregon Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. The awards were for work published in 2011.
