HPU Students Gain Access to SCU Ph.D. Program
CrossU_signing
Hawai‘i Pacific University has signed an agreement that will provide access to an innovative doctorate program at Southern Cross University (SCU) in Australia -- the Doctor of Philosophy in Organizational Change and Development.

This qualifies graduates of HPU’s Master of Arts degree in Organizational Change (MAOC) to be admitted as doctoral candidates in Organizational Change and Development at SCU.

“This provides important opportunities for HPU graduates to pursue a doctoral degree from a respected institution. SCU recognizes the caliber of education at HPU so they've granted special status to HPU alumni who wish to pursue their doctorate,” said Dr. Gordon Jones, dean of the College of Professionals Studies.

Today's leaders find they must continually realign their organizations to evolving strategic visions, missions, and goals critical to short-term performance. Simultaneously, they are faced with the complex task of adapting their organizations to rapidly changing competition for markets and resources, diverse workforce needs, government regulations, new technology, and a deteriorating environment. Organizational change involves a multi-disciplinary perspective and utilizes concepts and methods from such fields as management, sociology, and anthropology, organizational development, technology, psychology, and comparative economics.

Hawaii Pacific University's Master of Arts in Organizational Change (MA/OC) emphasizes the management, design, implementation, and application of such change methods as continuous improvement and performance management. Students learn how to design innovations for organizational culture change, as well as how to implement an actual program of change in an organization.

Certificate Programs:

The certificate programs are offered in both traditional, in-class or distance-learning formats. Our distance learning approach is based on multiple teaching methods. Our software, WEBCT, is supported by online discussions, conference calls, and other means that ensure the interactive advantages of traditional education remain part of the learning experience.

PhD Program:

Southern Cross University offers a Doctor of Philosophy in Organizational Change and Development. This unique program is linked, through an educational agreement, with the Organizational Change Program at Hawaii Pacific University.
