Faculty Book Delivery Service for the Oceanic Institute campus

The HPU Libraries are implementing a trial book delivery service between Atherton Library, Hawaii Loa campus, and the Oceanic Institute campus.  This service allows HPU faculty to submit online requests for circulating materials located at both campus libraries with delivery to the OI campus.

Trial Service Period

  • This service is scheduled to run from September 8, 2009 to May 16, 2010.

Eligibility

  • Current HPU faculty with offices on the OI campus
  • Current HPU Libraries faculty patron account in good standing

Delivery Locations

  • OI campus office address

Delivery Time

  • Due to the infrequent nature of the mail delivery to the OI campus we cannot give you an exact time frame but allow at least one week for delivery.
  • Library staff will process your request within 1-2 days of receipt and forward your books to the designated mail delivery site.
  • An e-mail message will notify you when your books are in transit.

Making Requests

  • Request forms are available Online.

Before submitting your request:

  • Request available books only.  Check the Library Catalog for the current status of each book.
  • Request general collection (circulating) books only.  Books from the reference and closed collections cannot be requested through this service.
  • Please include each book's title, call number and branch location on your request form.
  • Omitting any of the requested information may result in service delays.

Receiving Books

  • Requested books will be sent to you in standard interoffice mail envelopes.
  • Each book will come with a book slip attached to the front cover.  Please do not remove this slip.

 Returning Books

  •  Return books in standard interoffice mail envelopes addressed to Atherton Library Circulation Services, HLC.
