I was looking for a university where I could study Marine Biology in a practical setting, with a strong program for a reasonable cost. I found HPU through my own research, and it is has been a great experience! Throughout the application and acceptance processes, the international admissions staff was very helpful and friendly. From my first questions about studying at HPU, all the way through my visa interview and move to Hawai‘i, they were available to council and assist me with everything. One of my favorite things about being at student at HPU is the amazing opportunity to work in the field. With one of my classes this semester I was out on HPU’s research vessel nearly once a week; I love being on the water. With this hands-on, practical experience, I am able to gain the knowledge I need to succeed, and enjoy the beautiful environment in Hawai‘i! Simone Melo Belo Horizonte, Brazil BS, Marine Biology

Honolulu is one of the most desirable cities to live in and one of the top tourist destinations in the world. Because of this, the housing market is very tight both on and off campus. We encourage you to secure housing as soon as possible. We offer a selection of accommodations as follows:
Residence Halls (On-Campus)
Hawai'i Pacific University offers residence halls on the windward Hawai'i Loa campus for students who enroll for both fall and spring semesters. On-Campus housing (rooms are shared by two or three students) is generally enjoyed by students in their first year of study.
On-Campus housing includes room and board (14 meals per week). Costs and reservation forms for the academic year can be found here.
The Residence Life Office is currently accepting applications for the Spring 2010 semester. All applications received at this point will be automatically placed on the on-campus housing waitlist, and will be contacted directly by a Residence Life Professional Staff member.
For more information, visit HPU's On Campus Residence Halls, or e-mail to housing@hpu.edu.
Off-Campus Housing (Non-University Sponsored)
Many students choose to find their own apartments and off-campus housing either before they arrive in Hawaii, or after they arrive and have had a chance to become familiar with the local environment. The island of Oahu offers many different living arrangements - from the fast-paced city lifestyle of Honolulu (close to the Downtown Campus) to the quiet beach town of Kailua (near the windward Hawaii Loa Campus).
The HPU Center for Off-Campus Housing is available to assist you if you need information about off-campus housing options and/or prefer to arrange your own accommodations. If you are unfamiliar with the Honolulu area, our staff can provide information on what is available in the rental market and provide general advice about residential areas.
Click here for more information on Off-Campus Housing referral Properties, or contact the HPU Center for Off-Campus Housing for assistance.
Other recommended online sources to find rentals include:
After you arrive, you may also visit the HPU downtown Housing Service Center. Our staff will provide general advice about residential areas as well as information regarding the rental market.
Off-Campus Meal Plan (OCMP)
A private company, Off Campus Meal Plan (OCMP), is working with local restaurants to offer HPU students a flexible and convenient meal plan—one that can be used at many restaurants on the island of Oahu
For more information or to sign up for this plan visit HPU's Off-Campus Meal Plan
