Each year, more than half of all eligible students receive some form of assistance from the University and other financial sources to help pay for the cost of an HPU education.
Hawai'i Pacific University's Office of Financial Aid provides assistance to eligible students through a variety of programs from federal, state, and University funding sources.
If you are eligible for Financial Aid and are planning to take only online courses you should contact the Office of Financial Aid to determine if this will affect your award.
Student Federal Aid Eligibility:
- High school graduate or GED;
- U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen;
- Enrolled as eligible student in an eligible program (degree-seeking student in degree program); and
- Enrolled at least half-time basis (six semester credits).
The first step in being considered for assistance is to complete a student aid application. All eligible students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is available from your high school, the HPU Office of Financial Aid, or a college/university campus near you.
A student should complete the FAFSA as early in January/February as possible. For maximum consideration for funding, apply by March 1. We encourage you to contact the Office of Financial Aid to discuss your particular situation with a financial aid counselor.
