Cheryl Crozier Garcia, Ph.D., SPHR, recently became the first certified Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR) in the state of Hawaii. The certification, awarded by the HR Certification Institute, signifies that Dr. Crozier Garcia has demonstrated a mastery of the body of knowledge in the field of international human resource management. Currently, there are only 1,000 professionals worldwide who are similarly certified.

The HR Certification Institute is the credentialing body for human resource professionals and is affiliated with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the world's largest organization dedicated exclusively to the human resource profession.
