On Friday December 4, 2009 the Council of Countries invites you to participate in HPU’s Annual International Holiday Bazaar. On this day, Fort Street Mall will transform into a marketplace of booths, exhibiting cultural and ethnic Holiday traditions from around the world. Displays should be creative and interactive to draw the attention of the public and the HPU community.
Ideas? Turn your booth into an Ornament making station or handout traditional Holiday recipes from your country! Play Holiday music from your culture! Holiday crafts can be sold to earn money for your club or organization. Food can be sold only if it is professionally packaged and sealed.
Who can participate? Everyone! Participating in the International Holiday Bazaar is open to all students at HPU. Whether you are part of an organized cultural or ethnic club, or simply someone who would like to show your creative Holiday spirit, you can be a part of this exciting new HPU event! Participant can be reimbursed up to $100 for supplies to decorate their Holiday booth.
Cash prizes, up to $300, will be awarded to winning participants who design the most festive, creative and interactive booth. Whether you are a large organization or an individual, YOU can be a winner!
Stop by the International Center (1164 Bishop Street, Suite 1100), for more information, ideas and participation forms, or call 808-543-8088. You can also email the sponsoring organization, Council of Countries, at anewton@hpu.edu or kmikel@hpu.edu. We look forward to your participation in kicking off the Holiday Season, celebrating the cultures at HPU!
