Change of Address

Moving?

International Students are required to notify United States Immigration AND Hawaii Pacific University of address changes within ten (10) days of a move/address update.  This is requried throughout your course of study and during Optional Practical Training (OPT).

How to Notify Immigration (AR-11 Process)

The following process will update the address on the I-94 Admission Card completed upon entry into the United States, and officially notifies U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services of your address change.

  1. Go to http://www.uscis.gov/AR-11
  2. Click “Online Change of Address” under Related Links (upper right hand corner)
  3. Click “Change your address online” under Next Step
  4. Click “I Accept these terms and conditions” under Next Step
  5. Click “No, this change of address is not for a US Citizen” under Next Step
  6. Fill out the required fields under “Customer Information”--  the last address should be the address given on the I-94 Card upon entering the United States OR the last address change reported
  7. Click “Signature”
  8. Print out confirmation page and keep for your records

How to Notify Hawaii Pacific University

To inform the University, simply update your address on your Campus Pipeline account.  You can also speak to the Registrar or an International Student Advisor in person.  When this change is made to your university "mailing address", the new address will be sent via batch to the Department of Homeland Security.  This will also update your I-20 information and your address in SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System).

Name Updates

An official name change should be updated with both United States Immigration and Hawaii Pacific University.  International students with a change to their name should follow the above instructions for informing United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (AR-11 Process).  To report name changes to the University, you must first inform the Registrar directly, who will make the change to your student record.  Next, you must meet with an International Student Advisor to obtain a new I-20, reflecting the change in your name.
