NUR 2940 Health Teaching

This course will introduce the principles of health teaching, integrating physical, psychological spiritual, developmental, and sociocultural dimensions within a cultural and environmental context. Principles of adult learning as well as those used in teaching children and adolescents, are discussed. Students will apply health teaching and transcultural nursing theory, concepts and principles through the use of classroom presentations and discussions and a community service learning project.
SWRK 3900 B: Social Work Practicum I

This course is intended for second semester, junior year undergraduate students in social work. Knowledge and experience gained in both the Human Behavior In The Social Environment class and the Social Work Methods I class last semester will be enhanced through fourteen class meetings and 130 hours of placement experience in one practicum setting. Among other skills, students will focus on interviewing, contracting, recording, making referrals, and termination.
SWRK 4910 A: Social Work Practicum III

Students apply and integrate classroom theory in a social agency under close supervision. This course is intended for the second semester, fourth year undergraduate students in social work. Knowledge and experience gained the Human Behavior In The Social Environment; Social Work Practicum I & II; and Social Work Methods, I, II, and III, will be enhanced through fourteen class sessions and 160 hours of placement experience in a social agency.
