HPU Rankings

Hawai'i Pacific University (HPU) has been included in many national and regional college guides in the past years. Below you will find a few recent rankings for you reference. Select from the navigation bar on the left for more information about HPU.

Hawai'i Pacific University is one of fewer than 10 percent of institutions of higher education in the United States to be listed as one of Barron's Best Buys in College Education, according to the 2006 edition of the guidebook.

HPU is one of the 247 colleges and universities featured in the guide, which selects institutions that provide a high-quality educational experience at an affordable price. Barron's evaluates tuition rates, financial aid, student-faculty ratio, freshman profile, a survey of student satisfaction, and other data in making its decisions.

"Once again, Barron's has provided important third-party validation of our claim to offer a quality education at a reasonable cost," said HPU President Chatt G. Wright.

HPU has been named one of the great colleges for the real world, according to a guidebook by the same name. Great Colleges for the Real World: Get In. Get Out. Get a Job (3rd Edition) lists 200 colleges and universities nationwide deemed ideal for those looking for an educational experience that successfully prepares them for the world of work.

HPU is the only Hawai'i college or university among those listed.

The College Finder ranks HPU as having one of the most diverse student populations in the U.S.

The 23rd edition of Rugg's Recommendations On The Colleges lists HPU as one of the top 100 schools in the country.

"I hear more nice things about these schools than any others" writes author Fred Rugg. Rugg also recommends HPU's Business, Communication/Journalism, Computer Science, Entrepreneurial Studies, Environmental Studies, International Relations/Studies, Marine Science and Nursing programs as among the top in the country.
