This scholarship is established to honor Reverend and Mrs. Frank E. Butterworth for their dedication to higher education in Hawai‘i and for their support and loyalty to Hawai‘i Pacific University.
Each year Hawai‘i Pacific University will award this interfaith full-tuition scholarship to four (4) new students.
All religious faiths and/or denominations are invited to nominate one student each year, who has applied and been formally accepted for admission to Hawai‘i Pacific University. The HPU Scholarship Committee will review the applications and select four (4) new students each year to receive this 100% tuition-only scholarship. For students who maintain their academic standing, the scholarship is renewable for three (3) additional years.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

Be a current member of any organized religion or faith in Hawai‘i or in the Pacific Islands.

Demonstrate extracurricular involvement in his/her religious community.

Be nominated by the leadership representing his/her religious organization or congregation.

Be accepted as an entering freshman to HPU with 3.5 high school GPA or transfer student (24 college credits) with 3.0 GPA.

Be pursuing an undergraduate degree.
Award Type: 100% Tution waiver
Scholarship Period: Renewable up to three (3) years.
