The Department of International Studies at Hawai'i Pacific University is a collegial global learning environment housed within the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. Our interdisciplinary academic programs have a focus on global issues and range from applied linguistics (teaching English as a second/foreign language), the study of modern languages (7 taught at HPU), and academic programs anchored in the social science discipline areas of anthropology, geography, and political science.
Faculty and students combine their intellectual curiosity to foster greater awareness of a international affairs, and in turn help to educate global citizenship ready to make a difference in the world.
