This scholarship program is established to honor HPU's alumni. When an alumnus/a refers a student to HPU who has not already applied, the referred student will receive a $1,000 tuition scholarship in the name of the alumnus/a.
A referred student must:
- Meet HPU's normal admissions criteria.
- Attend HPU as a full-time student at its downtown or Hawai'i Loa campuses.
The $1,000 scholarship will be applied towards tuition, one half to the first semester of attendance, the remaining one half to the second semester of attendance. The award cannot be used with any other HPU scholarship, but can be used with other non-HPU funding sources.
Students who are U.S. citizens and have additional financial need are encouraged to apply for financial aid by submitting the Federal Application for Student Assistance Form (FAFSA). Use the Financial Aid link located on the left side of the page for additional financial aid and scholarship information.
For purposes of this scholarship program, a HPU alumnus/a is defined as a person:
- Who has earned a baccalaureate or masters degree at HPU.
- Who is not currently enrolled at HPU.
Alumni who are interested in participating in this scholarship program should submit the name, address, and secondary school or college graduation date of the referred student using the online alumni scholarship nomination form. Use Related Links located at the left of the page.
Upon receiving the referral, action will be taken to ensure that the referred student will receive the alumni scholarship in the name of the alumnus/a referring the student. A referred student will receive a scholarship notice and an application packet.
