Getting started
Congratulations and welcome to Hawai’i Pacific University! Please take a moment to review this information prior to registration. If you have questions, contact our main number at (808) 543-8034 or one of our academic advisors for assistance. Refer to Step Four for a complete list of our academic advisors.
The state of Hawai'i requires all students enrolling at the University to provide proof of two doses of the Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) immunization and a valid TB test taken within the last year in the United States, to HPU by the time of enrollment. Students attending HPU are strongly encouraged to have health insurance. For more information about approved health plans, contact our Center’s Registration staff at (808) 544-1150.

International Student Requirements
HPU’s Pipeline is a secure intranet connecting users to personalized content and services and providing access to e-mail, and other links. New students will receive their Pipeline login information with their acceptance packet. The login page can be accessed at http://campus.hpu.edu.
If you have problems logging on, contact Computing Services at (808) 566-2411 or fill out an online contact form by clicking here. You may also contact your academic advisor for assistance.
Within each program, there are courses and pre-requisites that define the degree requirements. You will want to write down the pre-requisite(s) for the courses you need to take.
To determine the degree requirements for your program, under the "Academics" tab, click on "Graduate Programs" on the HPU website, select your program, and then select “Degree Requirements” from the left hand menu. You can click individual courses to view course pre-requisites.
You can also check your Degree Plan to see which courses you have completed and which you still have pending. Your Degree Plan is your overall road map to graduation. Review the steps to access your degree plan in HPU Pipeline.
Academic advisors assist students by facilitating communication between students, faculty and staff, assist in degree planning, review coursework, syllabi, assignments, and much more. Here is a complete list of

You can
search sections and locations of classes via HPU’s website. Enter your query, under "Academics" tab, click on
"Course Schedule"; for example, MGMT 6100 or another 6000-level course. Enter the term/semester and click “Search”. The next screen will list the available sections. Click the course title to show the Course, Course Code, Course Description, Pre-requisite(s), Course Reference Number (CRN), Location, Instructor’s Name, Time of Class, and other related information. In cases where there are more than one section, write down your preferred CRNs in the order of priority in preparation of registering online.
Students on Financial AidMost graduate candidates who receive financial aid or a scholarship award do not have to pay the registration deposit. Once you complete your financial aid forms, your HPU Pipeline e-mail account will be sent an Estimated Financial Aid Award Letter. This letter will tell you how to accept your financial aid award. Graduate candidates who have been awarded and have accepted their financial aid award for the fall or spring semester will not need to pay the deposit. If you receive additional scholarships, please be sure to contact the
Financial Aid Office.
All other Graduate CandidatesIf you are not receiving financial aid or a scholarship award, a $200 non-refundable registration deposit is required. This deposit will apply as the first payment toward your tuition and fees. The remainder of your tuition will be due on Friday, September 4, 2009.
You can pay the deposit by credit card or from a checking/savings account through HPU Pipeline. Under “My Quick Links”, select “eBill”, and then “Pay Bill”. Indicate the term you want the payment to apply to. Within 24 hours, you should receive an e-mail message indicating your account will be available for registration on a certain day at a specific time. If you prefer to pay by phone, you may call

After you’ve made a list of classes that you would like to attend, you’re ready to register online.
Graduate Registration Schedule Students will be issued authorizations for web registration by email. Only students who have paid their early registration deposit, received financial aid, or been cleared to register will be issued a time ticket or invisible pass to register.
Login to your Pipeline account, within the “My Quick Links” section select “Register Online.” Select option six (6), enter your CRNs, and click “Submit for Changes.”
You can view your Class Schedule by returning to the main menu, and selecting “Class Schedule.” Since the first day of classes usually begins on Tuesday, navigate to the second week to view your full schedule of courses.
If you receive an error message, copy and paste the message into an email to your primary academic advisor. Your academic advisor will contact you with instructions once the problem has been resolved. For more information view our Web Registration Procedures. Here are some possible error messages you may encounter.
New Students OnlyThis event on Friday, January 22, 2010, will provide you with the opportunity to meet with deans, faculty, and students. The event will be held at the
YWCA of O'ahu, located at 1040 Richards Street in Honolulu, across from Iolani Palace. Check in will begin at 12:30 p.m. Program objectives, expectations, and guidelines will be discussed, as well as any questions you may have as you begin your study. Participation is highly recommended since the information, materials, and other resources, will be useful during your academic career at the University. There is a non-refundable fee of $35.00. Congratulations…you are now a registered student at Hawai’i Pacific University!
Go to HPU’s Learning Assistance Center to have your picture ID card made once you have registered. You may now purchase books and supplies at the HPU Bookstore or
online. When visiting the bookstore in person, please bring your printed schedule to the Bookstore and present your HPU ID card. If you have questions, our helpful staff is available to assist you along the way. We look forward to seeing you soon!
