Making A Difference at HPU

Members of the President's Fund are a distinguished group of trustees, alumni, community friends and corporations who share a commitment to Hawai'i Pacific University's excellence in education. Through their generosity, the President's Fund provides annual financial support for special opportunities that arise during the year. Gifts to the President's Fund enable the President and Board of Trustees to:

• Support innovative curriculum and outstanding faculty
• Stay ahead of the times with changing technology
• Create a dynamic environment in which HPU students live and learn
• Attract and educate students from around the world

The President's Fund has grown from 41 founding members to 250 members over the years, providing the University with over $3.7 million to fund special projects. Each year committee co-chairs are selected to lead the campaign.

Members are invited to the President's Fund recognition dinner in the fall to hear the initiatives funded through their support. To show appreciation, HPU also extends courtesies to members of the President's Fund;

  • Invitation to the President's annual Recognition Dinner
  • Inscribed book published by a HPU faculty member ($12,500 Donation or more)
  • Recognition in HPU's Giving Report of Philanthropy
  • Special invitations from the President to:
    • HPU Christmas Party, receptions and athletic events
    • HPU Paul and Vi Loo Theatre productions and Art Gallery opening receptions
    • Performances of the HPU International Chorale and Vocal Ensemble
  • Tours of the three HPU campuses -- Downtown, Hawai'i Loa and Oceanic Institute
  
  
• For Corporate Members
  • Invitation to the President's annual Recognition Dinner
  • Inscribed book published by a HPU faculty member ($15,000 Donation or more)
  • Recognition as approved by the Corporation
    • Listings in HPU's Giving Report of Philanthropy
    • Televised HPU sports events and printed programs
  • 50% tuition waiver for one semester undergraduate or graduate course during the 2009 academic year for a student new to HPU who is an employee of the entity (one waiver - $3,000 Donation or more) (Two waivers - $4,500 Donation or more) (Three waivers - $10,000 Donation or more)
  • Special invitations from the President to:
    • HPU Christmas Party, receptions and athletic events
    • HPU Paul and Vi Loo Theatre productions and Art Gallery opening receptions
    • Performances of the HPU International Chorale and Vocal Ensemble
