Tom Ku, a downtown Honolulu resident, has been promoted to Assistant Chief Information Officer in Hawai‘i Pacific University’s Information Technology Services Division.

In his new position, Ku will support Chief Information Officer Justin Itoh in the management of the day-to-day operations of the division and enhance the services provided. He will also champion projects initiated by the ITS Division and play a vital role in the coordination of technology issues within the HPU community.

An HPU alumnus, Ku joined HPU as a Systems Specialist in 1995. Since then, he has been promoted to various positions, including Systems Administrator, Network Administrator, Assistant Director of Technical Services, and Director of Network Technology. Ku has been responsible for much of the technological advancements made at HPU, including designing and implementing methods to increase network speed throughout and between campuses.
